2009 resolution
Happy 2009
Yeah I know it’s a little late, but in my book you can keep saying that throughout January. If you still wish people a happy new year in February it’s way to late and just lame.
This year started a little strange. To begin with a server with out telecommunication provider had a problem. Do to this problem we where disconnected from them for 8 days. This meant 8 days without being able to send or receive any sms. This is annoying for individuals but a disaster for a company who’s core business is sms services. The problem seems to be solved. We’re just crossing our fingers and hoping it stays that way.
Another thing happing at the start of the year is that the supervisor of the IT-department quit.
So for the time being I’m put in charge of the IT-department. For the time being. We still have to work out the details. It is however very likely that I’ll be the new guy in charge.
This is fine if it was not for the fact that I don’t know the system as well as the previous guy. So in the beginning a lot of things will not go as smooth as it used to, and some problems will take some more time to solve. The beginning will be a bit hard, but eventually everything will be fine.
After a strange, little difficult start I am convinced this year is gonna be a good year. Ofcourse I have some new years resolutions. I’ll stop smoking; Very easy since I don’t smoke ![]()
To be serious, this year is the year that I’m getting my self back in shape. To this remark me brother would say “Round is a shape”
You know what I hate about my brother. He can eat like a pig, He could probably eat a pig, and he gains an ounce in weight. I only look at food and I gain a pound.
My resolution is also to swim the marathon in two years. So I have to start now. For those who don’t know what I mean. Every year on or around 1st of July there is a swimming marathon. It’s about 18 kilometres in the Surinamese river. Not an easy task. You do need to be in shape to be able to do it. So that is where the first resolution comes in.
The last 4 years before I moved to The Netherlands I was a lifeguard at this event. Now I’m back in Suriname and I want to swim it. Wish me luck.
